Ätrans salmon fishing, facts
The river Ätran is the classic salmon water on the Swedish west coast. You can either fish in the town of Falkenberg, which is situated close to the E6 road and the Danish ferries. One of the world´s biggest lime projects has resulted in a wild and completely self-reproducing salmon strain.
Fishing water
The fishing stretch is about 2.5 km long. The lower part - Garvareforsen - is mainly meant for fly-fishing, while in the upper part spinning and angling are allowed. The fishing area is centrally situated in Falkenberg, and very easily accsseible with good communications and walking areas on both sides.

Sea trout in the spring, after that salmon.
Fishing season
Fishing is allowed from 1 april until 30 September. The best time for fishing sea trout is April and for salmon May till September. In the spring and early part of the summer the salmon weigh up to 15 kg.
Methods of fishing
Fly fishing and spinning. Angling is allowed. From May 1 the lower part is reserved for fly-fishing.
